Aberdovey

Aberdovey Golf Club, located on the Welsh west coastline, is a splendid links golf course that is enlivened by the dramatic coastal views that it overlooks. This classic links challenge is an engaging challenge, with the natural duneland an idyllic setting for a round of links golf.
Aberdovey is bordered by a stretch of beach that runs around the perimeter of the course, separating the course from the Irish Sea. The fabulous thick dunes also run along the outside of the holes, with the wavy grass swirling in the fresh sea breeze. Balls will roll along the fairways if you are skilful enough to locate them, but beware the bunkers, which are filled with golden sands and feature challenging lips. Aberdovey Golf Club offers the consummate textbook links golf challenges, and it is an ideal way to introduce yourself to the links game. The old wooden railway lines run through the interior of the course, offering an additional special kind of challenge.
Golf has been played at Aberdovey for over 125 years, and the club was officially founded in 1892. The course has five starting tee types, ensuring everyone can play a round here at a comfortable level for themselves. The club itself boasts Bernard Darwin and Ian Woosnam amongst their illustrious members, and it says so much about the club that these two golfing greats always came back to their roots here. Aberdovey is a simple and grand links golf test, one that everyone can enjoy.
