Ballyliffin is actually two outstanding championship links on the north Atlantic coast. It is Ireland’s most northerly golf complex and situated on the Inishowen Peninsula in north Donegal, just 25 miles from Derry City. The 36 hole complex at Ballyliffin is noted for its challenging opening three par fours and its peat riveted bunkers and is ranked amongst the very finest links courses in the world, while boasting the warmest welcome in golf.
The course has a long history and was slowly developed over many years to bring golfers the greatest possible enjoyment, eventually by 1973 all eighteen holes of the course were in play. The Old Links optimises the glory of its natural terrain, creating an immensely enjoyable challenge to every golfer. Work was recently undertaken by architect Nick Faldo, a move that has only served to strengthen The Old Links course and has been well received by visitors and members alike.
The Glashedy Links has hosted the Irish Inter-provincial Championships in 2006, the European Tour, North West of Ireland Open in 2002 and the Ladies European Tour, Ladies Irish Open in 1998.The Old Links hosted the European Seniors Tour in June 2008.
