Our Story
The Beginning
Celtic Golf, also known as 'Jerry Quinlan's Celtic Golf', was founded by Jerry Quinlan and his parents, Jack & Peg Quinlan in 1990 in Cape May, New Jersey. It all started when Jerry planned an amazingly detailed golf vacation to Ireland as a retirement gift for his father. Jack realized how special the present was and suggested that they should start a business planning trips for others to go see and play the beautiful golf courses and destinations of Ireland. And the rest is history, Celtic Golf was formed. Not long after, Josephine, Jerry's wife, joined the company and the four Quinlans' ran all aspects of Celtic Golf, growing the business each year.
1990s-2000s
During the 1990s and through the 2000s Celtic Golf continued to grow, welcoming hundreds of clients to Ireland and across Europe each year. In addition to growing our client base, widening our product offerings with the addition of large special events such as The Open, Ryder Cup and Solheim Cup alongside offering tailored services for large group travel has been at the forefront of our success. Also during this time, lifetime friendships and business partnerships were formed throughout Ireland (especially Killarney), Northern Ireland, Scotland and beyond that we are still grateful for today. Peg, Jerry and Josephine continued managing the business through the 2000s with Jack retiring in the early 2000's.
Celtic Golf continues to receive awards and accolades as well as praise from their many happy clients.
Celtic Golf Milestones:

1990 - Celtic Golf takes their first group of 12 to Ireland.

1992 - Celtic Golf opens it's first office location in Cape May Court House.

1992 - Josephine's brother-in-law, Joe Dwyer, joins Celtic Golf.

2000 - Celtic Golf celebrates 10 years in business.

2010 - Celtic Golf celebrates 20 years in business.

2011 - Josephine's niece, Tracey (Dwyer) Fox joins Celtic Golf.

2012 - Celtic Golf brings a company record number of clients to Dublin for the Notre Dame vs. Navy football game.

In 2017, Greg O'Mahony, Jerry & Jo's nephew-in-law joins Celtic Golf.

2018 - Jerry receives the Order of Innisfallen award honoring him for his contributions made to the area's economy by people from outside Killarney.

2018, Joe Dwyer retires after 25 years with the company.

2020 - Celtic Golf celebrates 30 years in business.

Early 2021, Jerry & Jo re-locate to Stuart, Florida and set up headquarters and the company goes fully remote.

Summer 2022, Celtic Golf brings a company record number of clients to Scotland to attend the Open for it's 150th anniversary in St. Andrews.

Also in Summer 2022, Jack & Peg's granddaughter / Jerry's niece, Megankate O'Mahony, joins Celtic Golf.

October 2022 - Jerry is honored by the Irish Golf Tour Operator Association (IGTOA), posthumously, at their annual awards & gala with the Jerry Donworth Award for Outstanding Contribution to Golf.

February 2023 - Celtic Golf wins the 'Best Golf Tour Operator - Overseas Based' category at the Scottish Golf Tourism Week awards at the annual gala.

August 2023 - Celtic Golf hosts the inaugural 'Jerry Quinlan Memorial Tournament' in County Mayo, Ireland at Mount Falcon Estate, Enniscrone Golf Club and Carne Golf Links.

2024 - Celtic Golf Celebrates it's 35th Year in Business.
Present
In 2024, Celtic Golf celebrates it's 35th anniversary. We proudly remain family owned and operated as Josephine Quinlan, Greg O'Mahony, Tracey Fox, and Megankate O'Mahony, now run business operations as Owner, President, Vice President, and Director of Marketing, respectively.
Celtic Golf continues to deliver exceptional customer service to our clients traveling throughout the many beautiful destinations across Europe.
